It seems that Anna played this match two days after her semifinal-Loss vs. Lindsay Davenport and straight before her flight to Paris,where she entered the Open Gaz de France Tournament as the 2nd seeded player.

Anna used these 3 Exhibition matches to get back to her form she was in before she suffered this horrible stress fracture. These were very hard matches for Anna but she was able to win 2 of them and the series overall. Great done Anna!
