On why she is returning to World TeamTennis:
"I love the format. I love the
possibility for me to be on the court again and in front of fans and play
some great tennis. I just love the format it is fun and energetic...it's a
great opportunity to be on the court."
On coming to Sacramento to play for WTT:
"I'm really looking forward to it.
It is one of the few cities I've never been to. I'm excited to play for
Wayne Bryan, he has great energy. I'm also excited to a part of a
team...the crowd and the public will get to see some great
matches...Looking forward to playing in a new place that I've never played
before and to be a part of a new city."
On what she knows about Newport Beach and her thoughts on playing there:
"Actually
been there last year for Elton John and Billie Jean King's Smash
Hits...there for just those few hours, really have not been around that
area, too much...I've heard it's really beautiful there."
On the opportunity that WTT presents not only to her, but to other players:
"It's a great combination because young players, retired players and
current players can get on the court and have an opportunity to play."
On where she sees the future of WTT in regards expansion:
"I would like to
see it grow...if we can spread enough awareness we can expand it."
On how much of the team concept is appealing to her as opposed to playing
singles:
"When I was playing doubles it was always looked at as playing for fun...and I never felt that much pressure. I wasn't trying to put too much pressure on myself and I was just going out there to have fun...and play with a partner I enjoy spending time with. It was always about fun. It did help in my singles . . . to play volleys and be more aggressive in singles." WTA
Return or officially retired right now?:
"Until I've decided for sure that I'll stop completely, I won't announce anything. I love the WTT format. I love the possibility of being on the court again in front of fans. I miss being on the court and playing in front of great crowds."
On if she would play Singles in this year's WTT season:
"It's fun to play doubles, but I'll do what's best for the team. At the end of the day, I want to do what's best so we can win."
