Has she ever been to Charlotte before?:
"Yeah, I’ve been here, but it was a while ago,...I'm just so excited to be here."
Why did Anna participate?:
"I'm here because I'm supporting Nick. His visions are always incredible. It promotes fitness and health and sports and tennis especially. So, I'm really grateful for people in this world like Nick. He's done so much for me and for so many people. All the kids that went to the academy, it just creates and supports our youth and gives a certain lifestyle that promotes health and teaches you so many things. That's what the academy gave me and I'm just glad that Nick is going around the country and, you know, trying to help out other people. So I'm just here to really support that and sports and tennis."
Did she enjoy it?:
"It was a lot of fun out there. It was great. They could use some more practice. I'm sure I can't drive as well as they could."
Funny Anna:
"Aren't you all supposed to go fast." (she said to one of the NASCAR drivers)
Anna about hitting balls with children for about an hour:
"That's the best part. I love playing with the kids. They're just
too cute. It was great. I wish we could have played a little longer. But it was really
cool."
Already retired or a return at some point?:
"About three years ago I had surgery on my foot and tried to get back from that and it took me about a year to realize I was having a lot of problems with my back due to my foot surgery. My foot started effecting my back and everything. It was just a big struggle playing injured all the time. So I decided to take some time off. It's been a while now, but I don't want to come back unless I'm a million percent healthy and sure that I'm going to do it all the way."
"There’s no reason to go and play a couple of tournaments then take a month
off because I'm injured."
"I really don't know what's going to happen right now. Trust me, I would have
already told everybody if I knew the answer. I still hope I could play.
Hopefully something will come pretty soon, because trust me I'm anxious to
know one way or another."
About her participation at the "Serving for Tsunami Relief"-event in January in Houston:
"I was looking for something to do (in response to the tsunami). The next day I got the call and I said, 'Of course I'll be there.' I would have canceled a lot of things to be here."
