Anna Kournikova beaten by Rita Grande
7:6, 3:6, 1:6

June 18, 2002

"I didn't play well - I was doing everything wrong and it was hard to play a first singles match on grass for a while. It was very frustrating during the match and I have had a few losses like that - it is not getting any better right now."

"I don't know what to think anymore. I am trying to get through it and trying to play through it. It is frustrating."

"I have been six, seven hours on court practising each day - maybe I should stop practising."

"I've felt good in training, but the match was frustrating."

"It's confidence."

"I've lost the sense of what I should do at what point in the match."

"I had a good start to the year (semifinals in Auckland, Tokyo and Acapulco). I have other things going on in my life - I have to work this out."

"I have no idea about what to do about Wimbledon."

"I have to sit down and think some things out, try to figure out what's happening."
