"I don't think we have played each other (in singles) in a while, so it
should be a good match," Kournikova said Wednesday during a news conference
at the Sambuca Jazz Cafe downtown.
"The matches I've had with her before have been amazing. She was a player I
always looked up to when I was growing up. I was always watching her play and it
was very exciting, and after that, when I played her in the pros, I was always
excited to play her."
She bristles slightly at
questions about the effects her fame has had on her game.
"I think the only people that bring up those questions are (the media). I don't think it has had an effect."
