Dad Kournikova not against Enrique
At a recent press
conference, Julio Iglesias was asked what he holds of the relationship
between his son Enrique and tennis star Anna Kournikova. The singer
ashtonished the journalists by reacting positively about Anna and even
hinted he may like to have Russian grandchildren.
But how does Anna's father relate to this relationship?
He doesn't seem to have anything against it.
Komsomolskaya Pravda decided to find out, how both fathers feel about this relationship. This is what Father Kournikov said:
"If there is any wish from both sides, we'll definitely meet. If Iglesias wants to, he knows where to find us. We'll be glad to get acquainted to him. No special trips should be organized for this. We can just as well meet in Miami, we live there. Enrique also resides there, and we meet. My daughter is dating him, Enrique has been to our house, what of it?"
- WHY HAVEN'T YOU MET WITH FATHER IGLESIAS SO FAR?
"Does Iglesias senior live with his son? Enrique can meet with anyone, but that doesn't imply that his father, or me for that matter, has to find out everything at once about his girlfriend, or about her boyfriend. Young people these days often fall in love, that's normal, and we shouldn't control our grown-up children in everything."
- BUT IF THINGS EVOLVE TOWARDS A WEDDING, THE PARENTS USUALLY GET TO MEET EACH OTHER...
"I think there is still lots of time for us parents to get acquainted. There hasn't been any wedding yet..."

"Sure, anything is possible. Only, at this moment, Enrique reckons he's still young and not ready to become neither a husband nor a father. He already explained this once in an interview."

"I respect my daughter's choice! After all, I don't have to live with him! Main thing is for her to be happy. That's every parent's dream."
