Anna/Chanda vs Lee/Prakusya on monday / Injured Martina in a chat / FHM "Sexiest Woman in the World 2002"
Anna and Chanda will play their 3rd Round Doubles match on monday - see full monday schedule:

Court 2 - Match play starts at 12:00 noon (CET -1 hour)

Lapentti vs Clement
Seles vs Tanasugarn
Philippoussis vs Krajicek
Lee/Prakusya vs Rubin/Kournikova

I assume that Anna's match will start at approx. 7:00-8:00 p.m. local (CET -1 hour)! Hopefully Anna and Chanda will continue to play so successful!

Injured Martina in a chat: During a chat session on Friday June 28, 2002 held in Wimbledon by sanexheroes.net Martina (on her way back after her surgery) had this to say to the following question:
Itchy:"Hi Marti, Anna is doing well with Chandra, if you get nack to 100% will you play with Anna again?"
MHingis:"Yes I am still in contact with Anna and I hope to play with her again. But right now I focus on my come back in singles."

Furthermore she said when asked "Are there any particular players that you like to practise with or talk to?"
MHingis: "I like practising with the players about my age like Anna,..."

Great to hear and hopefully she will be back soon! I would really love to see both playing Doubles in Filderstadt again like last year :-))

FHM "Sexiest Woman in the world 2002": Apparently, an exclusive Photoshooting with FHM has been made (who knows WHEN???) and on the one hand the pictures are simply unbelievable and overwhelming but on the other hand they are NOT in my opinion. WHY? In my opinion this is not the REAL Anna, not her REAL and NATURAL beauty - all this make-up, the lightning, camera effects, computer-edition etc etc! I really love to see Anna ONCOURT, the best thing is to see her LIVE, REAL! THIS is the Anna I love! Plus: These kind of megasexy images are perfect food for her critics! Anna&Chanda win 2nd match
Anna and Chanda won their 2nd Round Doubles match against Nicole Arendt/Leizel Huber 6:4,7:5 - Match Statistics | Article! Match took 76 minutes and Anna/Chanda will now face Janet Lee/Wynne Prakusya in the 3rd Round!

June 28, 2002
Anna&Chanda 2nd Round Doubles today
Anna and Chanda play their 2nd Round Doubles match today on court 18 - Full Saturday schedule:

Court 18 - Match play starts at 12:00 noon (CET -1 hour)

Farina Elia vs Maleeva
Kournikova/Rubin vs Arendt/Huber

So I think that Anna's Doubles match should start at approx. 2:00 p.m. local (CET -1 hour)! Hopefully both (Anna and Chanda) continue to play the way they played in the opening round.

June 28, 2002
Anna&Jonas WON Mixed 1st Round
YES - Anna and Jonas successfully won their first Mixed Doubles match against Barnard/Boogert in the 1st Round 6:3,6:7,6:4! They were already leading 6:3,4:2 but Barnard/Boogert came back and took the match to a deciding 3rd set. Netcam-Pictures and much more to come!

DOUBLES WIN / Anna plays Mixed / Singles02-Graphics / Carl Maes about Anna / new articles
GREAT Result Anna & Chanda! Both scored their first ever Doubles win together today by defeating Eva Bes/Marta Marrero in straight sets 6:1,6:1! Afterwards (very very unusual) both where asked to do an Interview. Great and hopefully this will be continued. Some Anna-quotes: "...wasn't angry at BBC for showing..." (the Interview), "I really don't read that stuff" (I didn't expect that Anna reads the yellow press-shit), "We're playing here for the fans" (hopefully not meant absolutely serious because she should play PRIMARELY to WIN!!!)! Next opponents: Anne Keothavong/Rachel Viollet or Nicole Arendt/Liezel Huber (7th seeded)! Anna doesn't play Doubles or Mixed tomorrow! Friday-schedule

Anna plays Mixed: I mentioned it before after Anna herself said "Mixed" in her Interview after her defeat vs Panova, now it is official. Anna and Jonas Bjorkman play Mixed Doubles (Full Mixed Doubles Draw) - like back in 1999 and 2000. In 1999 they were Runner-Up (lost vs Paes/Raymond in the Final at July 4, 1999) and in 2000 both unfortunately were beaten already in the 1st Round (3:6,6:3,3:6 vs Arthurs/Barclay on June 30, 2000). Hopefully they do better this time - both are 7th seed and will meet Marius Barnard/Kristie Boogert in the opening round, on SATURDAY.
By the way - this is Anna's first Mixed Doubles match since January 21, 2001 - there she lost together with Max Mirnyi in the 1st Round of the Australian Open against Coetzer/Adams 3:6,3:6! Anna's last big success in Mixed Doubles was at the US Open 2000 where she reached the Final with Max Mirnyi and both lost vs Sanchez-Vicario/Palmer 4:6,3:6 (September 7, 2000)!

Singles02-Graphics: I created two images with several graphs which clearly show Anna's first 2002-results till Acapulco compared to her 2002-results after the Acapulco-tournament. VERY interesting I think and deeply frustrating as well when you see how dramatically Anna's form has fallen away!

Carl Maes about Anna: Kim Clijsters' former coach recently talked about Anna and in general he was supportive for her. Some remarkable quotes (translated from dutch): "Toilet and bathroom-visits almost entirely make up her daily moments of privacy" (kind of funny said but also kind of true and therefore sad), "The big problem is between the ears" (funny description for her big mental problem), "She's still 21, but has lived a life like only old people normally have experienced" (true), "I really hope that Anna will stay with us and finds back her normal level of play" (supportive). He also said that Harold's biggest problem right now is the difference between her good practise- and her worse match-performances. Maes says that Anna is at one level with Frazier, Raymond, Farina and Testud and she still has Top10-skills. More

new articles: Another couple of really "great" articles about the BBC Interview and also 10 points about her - don't take this seriously at all. BBC | ESPN

Doubles 1st Round on court 13 / Navratilova pro Anna / more BBC-articles / Anna's hairdresser REPORTEDLY / Thanx for Feedback/Help
It's not one of the big courts but this could also not be expected - Anna and Chanda play their 1st Round Doubles match against Eva Bes/Marta Marrero tomorrow on court 13, 3rd match. See the schedule:

Court 13 - match play starts 12:00 noon (CET -1 hour) Full Thursday-schedule

Knowle vs Nieminen
Prakusya vs Raymond
Kournikova/Rubin vs Bes/Marrero

So I assume the match will start at approx. 3:30-5:00 p.m. local (CET -1 hour) but at least in germany NOTHING will be aired live unfortunately!

Navratilova pro Anna: Great to here that at least one big name in Tennis is supporting Anna - Martina Navratilova had some GOOD words left for Anna while Chris Evert, John McEnroe etc. just started bashing her due to her behavior during the strange BBC Interview!

more BBC-articles: more details about what the Interviewer said and how Anna reacted. In my opinion Anna was RIGHT and she is how she is! Report 1 | Report 2

Anna's hairdresser REPORTEDLY: Top of the Pops reports that apparently Anna Kournikova's hairdresser Marcel Reboh has been spilling the beans on how the sexy tennis star has been dating Enrique Iglesias ever since her quickly divorced from Russian hockey star Sergei Federov. He blabbed, "I remember she said to me, 'That's it, I got divorced, it's finished! Now it's a new lover.' She's been with Enrique for a few months."

Great piece of CRAP once again - I don't believe ANYTHING of this. Just CRAP! But just for you - make your own decision on the "credibility" of THIS :-((

Thanx for Feedback/Help: I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to Kristina - she mailed me and gave me infos where some various pictures belong to. I will move the pictures within the next few days.
Thanx a lot also to Sascha Rettkowski - I promise you that I won't lose interest in maintaining annaforever.de! The only bad thing is that in 2003 I might not have SO much time left to do the website but the last word isn't spoken yet. Videos doesn't work? Normally ALL Files in the Videogallery should be downloadable, otherwise it's the webhosts' fault!

More articles about BBC-Interview & Anna's shape / Doubles to come
More reports came out lately concerning Anna's behaviour at the weird BBC-Interview (Anna stood up and left shortly after being asked if she should consider to play lower-tier tournaments and after being told that her confidence is obviously LOW) as well as Anna's shape! WATCH the BBC-Interview as well as the 2nd Interview, the transcripted one at official Wimbledon-Site! The articles:

sport1.de - well-known tennis-greats against Anna

msnbc - Bud Collins' more or less acceptable assessment of Anna right now

tennisreporters - best report about the BBC-Interview

ESPN - also about the BBC-Interview

Doubles to come: The schedule for wednesday is already out but Anna wasn't scheduled to play her 1st Round Doubles-match together with Chanda Rubin - so she one day left to practise. There is a good chance that she also enters the MIXED competition because she mentioned the Mixed when she talked about practising in Wimbledon right now in her Interview after her loss vs Panova!

June 25, 2002
WTA unhappy with BBC / new Sergej&Anna-rumors
The WTA is not happy with the way BBC did the TV-Interview with Anna. Anna stood up after she was angered when a question by Interviewer Garry Richardson came up where he suggested that she should consider to play lower-tier tournaments! How did the WTA react?

new Sergej&Anna-rumors: Today in german BILD newspaper as well as in various Videotext-pages and in the boulevard magazines on german TV - Anna and Sergej are REPORTEDLY a couple again!

Well, I don't have a personal comment to that anymore - stupid press. Just think back to SUN's "Tennis babe Anna weds"-cover in July 2001...!

June 25, 2002
Anna's full post-match Interview & Pictures / BBC-Interview-story / SUN of course
I have read the full post match Interview after Anna's loss to Panova yesterday in Wimbledon's Singles 1st Round. Quotes: "didn't expect to do too great", "crowd was great", "even though I'm losing right now,..., I try to come back and try to do better next time" (she is definitely straight to Tennis), "if I lose a match, it's not the end of the world", "since march it's hard to get back", "I don't have a career off court" (once again the same questions addressing her offcourt-stuff)! There was also a question concerning Sergej Fedorov (he reportedly said to Scotty Bowman (former Detroit Red Wings-coach) that he will leave after the victory parade and will fly to Europe... well,REPORTEDLY) - Anna didn't answer it!

Pictures: official Messageboard (Photos Exchange -> Members Fotos -> "Wimbledon 2002 Pictures"-Thread) | at wtastarz.com

BBC-Interview-story: Well, BBC obviously showed a full-length Interview yesterday evening at prime time and I have read many posts at the messageboards that Anna should have behaved like a "diva" etc.! Pam Shriver even should have said later: "I think we saw the real Anna Kournikova"!

Well, for sure Anna wasn't in a good mood after another loss but I am also a but confused - like the CAT posted at the official messageboard mentioned - WHY did Anna react so "happy" after losing???! Was she really so happy about playing a bit better than at Eastbourne??? Of course, in the end it is no one else than HER who has to know how well or how bad she played. But waving to her fans and smiling after she LOST - kind of hard to understand!

SUN of course: Who would have thought they will say NOTHING towards Anna's 1st Round-exit??? No one for sure! They published an article called "Anna's all ova Tatiana" showing both approaching each other for the normal kiss at the net. But of course they make it look like as if both kissed each other at ther lips!! Ridiculous. Plus: Hantuchova is mentioned in it, too. Well, also no surprise! Hey Brits! Take Daniela for the new "beauty queen" and leave Anna alone - I would appreciate it!

Anna said: "I didn't expect to do as well as I did" / Ranking News
Well, perhaps I was far too negative in my first reaction after Anna's loss to Panova! I have read this article and also looked at these Interview-Cuts: "I was pleased that it was so close in the end. I didn't expect to do as well as I did. It was a great, with some fun points. I played much better than I did at Eastbourne last week."
Well, it is ANNA in the end who has to know IF she really feels she has improved from last week to this week!

It was also pointed out that former Wimbledon champion Chris Evert had suggested she cut down on her endorsement work outside of tennis to help improve Anna's game, there she said: "Trust me, I don't do 99 per cent of the stuff you guys say I do outside of tennis. I 'm not interested in that sort of thing. I want to give my all to my tennis. I've gone through changes but I'm working hard and I'm not that far away."

Anna reportedly behaved not so polite in the pressconference what I can't really confirm or not because I haven't seen it but read here to get opinions of people who have seen the Interview on BBC!

Ranking News: Anna's Singles Ranking continues to go up and down but this is no wonder if you take a look at her recent Singles results. This week one position down to 55th (618 pts), in Doubles still 13th but she gained 1 point due to her 1st Round-defeat from Eastbourne together with Chanda Rubin. In the "Race to the Championships"-Rankings Anna keeps on losing positions - down to 33th Rank in Singles (563 points) which she shares now with Daja Bedanova. In Doubles she is now ranked 12th with 1066 points!

Anna lost her 5th straight match - 1:6,6:4,4:6 vs Panova / my point of view
Is THIS still a surprise?? NO IT ISN'T!!!!! I saw the match from 3:2 in the 3rd set and from what I have seen I just can say that this REALLY RIDICULOUS! I mean WHY is Anna going for the straight winner and committing unbelievable unforced errors with fore- and backhand instead of keeping the ball in the game which would have been enough probably against Panove???? Anna played in her new all-white outfit and in my opinion she gained weight a little bit which I also don't understand!
She was down 3:5 in the 3rd set but managed to hold her serve and then she even had a few breakpoints at 4:5 down but - ANNA made the unforced errors and it to me it only was a matter of time that Panova wins the match! And so it happened - Anna LOST again in the 1st round!!!!

my point of view: I am speechless! I really don't know what to think anymore. For sure Anna is really sad and angry about her "performance" but I don't have any explanation anymore WHAT the reasons for these unbelievable unforced errors may be. How can it be that she feels fine in practise and everything is fine there but in the match N O T H I N G works?!?!?! What will Solomon say to her now??? I am also confused about her weight! I definitely saw an Anna who has gained weight at her stomach and her face - maybe she tries to fight the losing-frustrations by eating too many sweets??? No idea!

I am sorry if I am too disrespectful towards Anna in your eyes but I am angry also - angry because I saw her sometimes today WITHOUT signs of fighting or believing that she still can win. In the end of the match when she was defending a few match points she laughed and it was this "Oh,how was it possible that the ball went in"-laugh in my opinion! In the end right now I am speechless, frustrated and angry!

Anna, I have no more ideas which advice to give to you. It is possible that your next WTA tournament is Stanford (in about 1 month) and all I can hope is that Solomon keeps on working with you. This was your 5th straight defeat (4th straight 1st Round-exit) - you were never less successful :-(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

Anna vs Panova 2nd match on Court 2 / Anna had to change... / Eastbourne-Pictures / WTA launches "Advantage"
The Order of Play for Monday June 24, 2002 is out - Anna plays her 1st Round match against Tatiana Panova (21st seed) on court 2, 2nd match (Full Monday-Order of Play). Look at the schedule:

Court 2 - Match play starts at 12:00 noon (CET -1 hour)

Enqvist vs Parmar
Kournikova vs Panova

I assume that the match will start at about 2:00/3:00 p.m. (CET -1 hour) and for me in Germany there is unfortunately only a slim chance to see this match LIVE - german TV channel ARD is broadcasting LIVE from Wimbledon from 2:00-5:00 p.m.! But: Serena is playing on Centre Court and Anca Barna (german player) on court 3 most likely at the same time! So hopefully I will be able to see Anna LIVE!

I am really really hoping that Anna WON'T exit Wimbledon in the 1st Round. Panova is seeded and Anna isn't playing well at the moment but in the end it's ALL about confidence and nothing else. Hopefully Anna can handle everything what bothers her at the moment!

Anna had to change...: ...her tennis shorts! She was spotted by officials wearing black shorts and was asked to change. But Anna had to borrow some men's white shorts from her coach Harold Solomon and she also had to get rid of the sponsor logo because these shorts were made by a rival company. More

Eastbourne-Pictures: Take a look at great pictures from Eastbourne a few days ago at Anna's official website!

WTA launches "Advantage": Sanex WTA Tour and publisher Boston Hannah launched Tour's first ever celebrity fan magazine. Jennifer Capriati is on its inaugural issue. Read more

Anna reportedly was about to cry :-( / Wimbledon to come
Thanx for providing the news Nicolas Meunier (he won the sanexheroes.net-competition and was 2 days in Eastbourne and Wimbledon) although they aren't good ones - he eyewitnessed Anna's post-match pressconference and obviously journalists didn't prepare any questions although they had time enough to do that (1 hour)! Anna appeared and was very sad and fought with her tears. But british journalists continued to attack her with offensive questions :-((
Adressing the "I have other things going on in my life"-thing Nicolas has these infos: It was a comment she made at her press conference. Said she had things to work through in her personal life. One Journalists asked: "What?" and Anna said she wasn't going to talk about it. Journalists asked if there were people helping her?". She said that she just needed to struggle through this on her own.

MY OPINION: British press is the worst in the world and they don't show respect to the players and their feelings. Anna was absolutely FRUSTRATED (what else after another 1st Round-exit?) and they didn't care. If I were Nicolas and had been in this pressconference-room I think it would have been too much for me and I would have left the room. Or I would have started crying because seeing Anna crying or fighting to prevent crying would be too much I think. Well, I am frustrated - still. The MOST depressing fact: Anna doesn't seem to know herself WHAT left to do!! :-((

All what's left to do is the same like after all these other 1st round-defeats: Hoping that Solomon can really help Anna in long-term view! She is modifying/changing her game in many ways - I am still sure that SOMEDAY it will turn out with good results again!

Wimbledon to come: Anna faces Tatiana Panova in the 1st Round on Monday June 24, 2002! Record so far: Zurich, 2nd Round, 11.10.2000 (6-3,6-3), Moscow, QF,  27.10.2000 (6-4,6-1) / Anna leads 2-0 but NO GRASS-match so far

In Doubles Anna partners Chanda Rubin for the 2nd time! First opponents: Eva Bes/Marta Marrero!

Anna plays Stanford / FHM-Anna-Interview
Anna has officially entered the Bank of the West Classic at Stanford (July 22-28, 2002). This is what the tournament director Peter Tatum said: "We are pleased to have Anna returning this year,...Anna continues to draw a large number of tennis fans to the venue, which in turn has a positive impact on tennis in the Bay Area." Warm words but most important is that Anna is playing well!

FHM-Anna-Interview: Well, I have already seen pieces of an Interview addressing Anna's FHM-win but if you follow this link here and click on the "Video" it says that on MONDAY the Anna Kournikova-Video will be out. Perhaps they'll publish the WHOLE Interview following Anna's "Sexiest Woman of the world 2002"-Victory?!?!? May be!

June 19, 2002
Anna doesn't know WHY... / Singles-pictures / thisislondon-report / RTL once again
Look at Anna's post-match statements - she KNOWS that nothing went right vs Grande yesterday: "I was doing everything wrong", "it's not getting any better right now", "I don't know what to think anymore", "It is frustrating", "I have been six, seven hours on court practising each day - maybe I should stop practising" - can it get any worse??? I doubt it! These are probably the most frustrating comments Anna ever made - but they are TRUE and this is the most frustrating thing!!!! Article
We just can hope that Wimbledon will be better, nothing else we can do than continue to support her and that's what I will do!

Singles-pictures: either at official Messageboard (Photos Exchange -> Members Fotos - Eastbourne2002-Thread) or here

thisislondon-report: Finally a report worth mentioning which portrays Anna NOT as an overpayed, untalented beauty queen! Think about THIS quote from Anna and if you still keep on saying Anna isn't focusing passionately on Tennis then please quit this website: "I'm only 21. I'm not thinking about the future or settling down. And don't even talk to me about having children. I'm just concentrating on being a better tennis player." :-)))

RTL once again: German TV channel RTL aired another very nice :-( report mainly about Anna called "The Russians are coming": They didn't show any news, just Anna's FHM "Sexiest Woman in the World 2002"-comments but the worst thing was to name Anna "endorsement star" (Werbestar) instead of "tennisstar" - thanx media world :-((((

June 18, 2002
Anna LOST in 3 sets / feelings / Doubles-pictures
I don't want to write about another frustrating 1st Round-loss, Anna's 9th this year already (!!!!!!!!!), but unfortunately I have to! 7:6,3:6,1:6 the frustrating score!!! I haven't any stats yet but for sure Anna's serve was one of her weaknesses once again!
Well, this wasn't a good preparation for Wimbledon of course - 2 matches - ALL LOST :-(((((((((((((

feelings: I am frustrated as a man can be! The thing which frustrates me the most is that LOSING HAS BECOME NORMALITY in recent months!!! Anna lost 10 of her last 13 Singles matches which is just unbelievable!!! I've seen her losing in Warsaw and Strasbourg, little injuries setting her back. I don't know yet if there was one of these little injuries in Eastbourne but I doubt it! When will she regain her old strengths again??? When will the training-improvements deliver match-wins??? I am down and to be honest: I doubt that we will see Anna long at Wimbledon - I REALLY HOPE IT but I don't believe in it.
Just imagine: 45-year-old Martina Navratilova won against Panova today - Anna lost! How frustrating for Anna would it be if she loses to Panova next week in Wimbledon knowing that Navratilova beat Panova although she hasn't played a professional Singles-match since many years??? It would be unbelievable frustrating I think!

Anna & Chanda LOST / Anna 3rd match tomorrow - schedule / Ranking News / new Berlei-campaign
Bad start into the tournament! Anna and Chanda LOST their 1st round match against Lee/Prakusya in 3 sets but at least it was a close match and keep in mind that it was the first time EVER Anna and Chanda played together at a WTA tournament. 6:3,4:6,4:6 was the score!
As soon as I know more I will let you know!

Annas 3rd match tomorrow - schedule: Look at the center court-schedule for Tuesday June 18, 2002:

Match play starts at 11:30 a.m.

Schnyder vs Myskina
Navratilova vs Panova
Grande vs Kournikova

I assume that Anna's match will take place at approx. 2:30/3:30 p.m. (CET -1 hour)! Hopefully Anna has a better start in Singles than in Doubles today!

PS: Have YOU ever thought that 45-year-old (or even 46?) Martina Navratilova would play in a Singles Main Draw of a TierII-tournament once again??? Don't get me wrong - this is just absolutely unique and as far as I know NO woman in this age has done this before - but why not?!

Ranking News: Up and down a few places - same this week: Anna moves up one position again like after Strasbourg and is ranked 54th in the world once again (618 pts)! Doubles remains unchanged once again - 13th with 1595 pts! In the "Race to the Championships"-Rankings Anna's Singles Ranking keeps on dropping down - just 29th ranked with 562 pts but still 10th ranked in Doubles with unchanged 1065 pts.

new Berlei-campaign: On Friday June 14, 2002 Anna took part in a new promotional event for her sponsor Berlei, the Shock Absorber Sports Bra! The new slogan: "Russian Pilot - NASA Technology - no Lift-off" - I like this one more than "Only the ball should bounce" from 2 years ago!

Anna & Rubin in Doubles 1st Round TODAY / Singles tomorrowcbr> SURPRISE, SURPRISE! Anna teamed up with Chanda Rubin in this week's Eastbourne's Doubles competition! Both never played each other before and for sure it's Anna's intention to play as many matches on grass as possible. Both face Wynne Prakusya/Janet Lee in today's 1st Round!

Monday-schedule for center court - Match play starts 11:30 a.m.

Craybas or Pullin vs Prakusya
Sugiyama vs Pierce
Navratiolova/Zvereva vs Coetzer/McNeil
Kournikova/Rubin vs Prakusya/Lee

The match should take place at approx. 4:00/5:00 p.m.! Time in Eastbourne is CET -1 hour!
In the 2nd Round Anna & Chanda would probably face the No.1 seeded Raymond/Stubbs!

Singles tomorrow: Anna will play her Singles 1st Round match tomorrow vs Rita Grande!

June 16, 2002
Eastbourne-Draw out / BBC-article  / Central Florida Tennis-pictures
The Draw is out and Anna faces Rita Grande in the 1st Round! Full Singles Main draw! Despite Anna hasn't played a match on grass for nearly two years she still should be the favorite player because grass is the surface which suits her game the best.
Both, Anna and Rita, have played each other just once before - on May 3, 1999 in the 1st Round of the Italian Open in Rome - on CLAY! Anna won this match 6:7,6:3,2:0 - Rita retired! So both never met each other on grass before.

If Anna manages to win this match her next opponents will most likely be Meghann Shaughnessy (2nd Round) and Jelena Dokic (3rd Round)!

I am very very excited to see IF I will see a better-playing Anna compared to the Roland Garros-match. 2 1/2 weeks are gone and for sure lots and lots of practising with Harold - I am excited to see the outcome of it!

BBC-article: Well, another "great" article from the british press called "Kournikova's battle for credibility" - leave her ALONE, Brits!

GREAT Roland Garros02-Adidas-Picture / Anna on E! / RANKINGS-Section added
Watch absolutely great pictures of Anna presenting her Roland Garros 2002-Adidas-outfit either here or here (official messageboard)

Anna on E!: Tonight Anna was on E!'s Rank show (US-TV-Show) about "Hollywood Hottest Blonds." Anna was 20th in the list of the top 25 or 30 (source didn't know exactly). Anna was shown after a practice (from this year) walking down the stairs. Then it showed Anna from her new Adidas commerical. It was mostly Anna in a trailer at the set of the commerical talking about the scene she was shooting it, probably less than 30 words she said. Then they had other clebrities talking about Anna. 3 guys talked, 2 had good things to say and the 3rd only talked negatively about her tennis . Anyways the #1 Blonde was Reese Witherspoon.

My opinion is obious - Anna deserves #1 but such Rankings (as well as the FHM-"Sexiest Woman in the world 2002"-Title) means NOTHING really!

RANKINGS-Section added: Right now you find HERE Anna's Ranking-Development from week to week, comfortably presented in a jpg-file! Take me there (you find this new section under "ANNA's" in the Flash-Navigation-bar on top of the site)

Eastbourne is coming / Anna already in GBR / Trip to Glory...
Just 4 days to go until Anna will play her first grass court tournament since Wimbledon 2000 (last match against Anne-Gaelle Sidot in 2nd Round on June 28, 2000 - Anna lost 3-6,4-6)! It will be very very interesting to see if she is already able to transfer what she has learned in practise from Harold into her match play. Hopefully it will be a good Wimbledon-preparation for her with a few wins. Up-to-date Eastbourne-News

Anna already in GBR: Anna seems to be already in Great Britain for a few days. For sure she and Harold flew to Britian straight after Harold's work with his junior player in Roland Garros was finished.

Trip to Glory...: Just in case anybody hasn't seen it already - the "Take a look..."-section has been renamed into "Trip to Glory..." but the intention remains the same - showing you memorable moments, great wins and achievements of Anna throughout her professional career! Take a TRIP TO GLORY...back to the US Open 1996!!!

Anna answers YOUR questions / Congratulations Nicolas Meunier
You still can submit questions to Anna but she already has answered a few here! No REALLY news (i know for a long time already that TENNIS comes first for her) but at least something said by Anna to us once again.

Congratulations Nicolas Meunier: I have read your post at the official messageboard and like to congratulate you. Nicolas has won the Sanexheroes-contest (his pics from Roland Garros02 generated the most pageviews throughout the 2 Roland Garros-weeks) and will now be THE Sanex-Reporter for 2 days at Eastbourne as well as Wimbledon! Of course, I am jealous but you are doing a great great job with your unique photographs and so you deserve it. Have fun there and keep us Anna-fans informed!

Wildcard for Eastbourne / Ranking News / Contribute to Doubles-Thread / French Tennis magazine
As expected Anna received a Wildcard from the organisers to be able to compete at the traditional grass court tournament at Eastbourne which starts in 1 week! Look for further informations!

Ranking News: Hopefully Anna finds back to old strength soon - the Rankings are going down...once again! In Singles Anna lost 1 position and is ranked 55th again (+1 point, 1st Round at Grand Slam)! In Doubles everything remains unchanged - 13th with 1595 points! In the Race to the Championships-Rankings Anna continues to fall down in Singles for obvious reasons - 27th with 562 points but still 10th ranked in Doubles with unchanged 1065 points. Interesting: Anna is the only Top10-ranked Doubles player in this Ranking who has only played Doubles at 3 tournaments 2002 so far (Aussie Open-Doubles victory of course)!

Contribute to Doubles-thread: What do you think about the future of the "Spice Girls?" - state your opinion like I did today!

French Tennis magazine: Anna is on top of most of the polls within this magazine! Fans were asked about their dreamfinal and they said it would be Anna vs Martina (happened twice already, Moscow 2000 and Hilton Head 1999)! Anna was also voted the "sexiest player" (no surprise) and she was No.1 when fans were asked "Who would you like to spend an evening with?" (also my favourite choice of course)! Anna was third in the "Which player would you like to be"-Poll (after Martina and Graf)!

brainsick thread
Well "veryborednow" has "created" a thread (on Anna's Birthday!!!!) which is really the most SICK thing I have ever seen so far - he posted THIS picture

and said - "Anna K finds new methods to generate "on court" income ..."!!! I think everybody knows WHAT this idiot meant and I really don't understand why the Admins from the WTAworld-Board haven't deleted this crap-thread yet! "veryborednow" - you are SICK, absolutely SICK and YOU are the one who must be insulted in SUCH a vulgar way!

BILD.de congratulates Anna: Well, of course they had to bring back the old PLAYBOY-thing...not a real surprise! have a look at the 21 wishes and pictures!

new Poll / Anna still in Paris / annaforever.de - Changings
I should have replaced the old Roland Garros-Poll earlier but I haven't had the opportunity. Here's the result:

Well, the slight majority thought Anna would lose in Round 2 but unfortunately she already exited the 2nd Grand Slam of the year in the opening round vs little known Christina Wheeler.

But now take a look at the NEW POLL at the known place on the left: "Anna ahead of the grass court season - how good will she be?"

Anna still in Paris: Anna really seems to be still at Paris, around Roland Garros, although she already exited the Grand Slam 8 days ago! BUT: Harold Solomon is still coach of a junior player (B.Evans) and he lost at the opening rounds of the junior competitions this tuesday!
I think it is a good decision from Anna rather to stay in Paris where her coach is than going to England and start practising on grass WITHOUTH Harold.
One negative information for me: ENRIQUE seems to have a concert at Paris tonight - the night when Anna turns 21... :-((((( ESCAPE-frustrations are coming back I think :-((((
Well, I know that Anna can do whatever she wants to but I cannot stand this guy!

Anyway once again, whereever you may celebrate your Birthday and with whoever: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

annaforever.de - Changings: ALL DESIGN-Changes made - I hope you like it!

Eastbourne to come / Webhost-problems / Just a few more days
Anna plays her next tournament, her 18th of the year so far!!!, at Eastbourne - the grass court tournament is THE traditional preparation tournament for Wimbledon and starts in exactly two weeks. Until then Anna will be practising together with Harold Solomon and both will work on her game!

Webhost-problems: You know that I am regularly updating annaforever.de and in general on a daily basis. But since 2 days I have NO MORE ACCESS to the FTP-server due to reasons I cannot explain! I am working on the problem but delays may occur during the next few days. Apologizes for any inconveniences this may cause!

Just a few more days: Anna is just 3 days away to turn 21 years old! Of course, this is a special day for me as well. I really hope that my website-changes will be finished by then and hopefully you will like them. Do YOU have another idea how to celebrate Anna's 21st birthday???
